Seasonal reading

There are some books that, for me, are distinctly seasonal pleasures. I’ve been meditating on this as the weather changes. Here are my suggestions.

Autumn
Howard’s End
Brambly Hedge
Tasha Tudor’s lifestyle books

Winter
A Little Princess
The Story of Holly and Ivy (Christmas)

Spring
The Secret Garden
The Wind in the Willows

Summer
The Story Girl
The Golden Road

Excellent list! I read “The Secret Garden” every May, so I sympathize with the seasonal reading of books. The Montgomery books are perfect for summer. I like reading anything by a Bronte in the winter, particularly when it’s gray and howling outside.
